Disappointment: Loreal Voluminous Million Lashes + Review + Photos

L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara - Blackest Black
Ever since L'Oreal came out with their Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara, I've been craving to get my hands on it. I didn't do much research on it before buying it which is unlike myself. I think it was the mere sleek shiny packaging and commercial that attracted me to it. The main reason I desired it was because of the statement made by L'Oreal that it had a built-in wiping system. That is something I've been yearning for in my mascaras since I usually take a paper towel and wipe off ll the excess mascara to prevent my lashes from clumping (a complete waste of mascara). Boy, was this a total beauty disappointment for me. I picked up 2 of these mascaras at Rite-Aid only because there was a sale and I had a VV coupon paired with a mfr coupon + a $3/$15 coupon.. making them free compared to their retail price of $8.95.

L'Oreal claims:
"For lashes that look a million times multiplied and perfectly defined... The built-in Clean Sweep Wiping System wipes the brush free of clumps leaving the perfect amount of mascara for an ultra-volumized clean lash look. The Millionizing Brush even thickens lashes from root to tip. The result? Lashes look so multiplied, so clean, it's like seeing millions."

I do admit the packaging is pretty to look at and I like that it has a lock system that clicks when closing the top. But the brush??? The brush is the most flimsiest of all mascara brushes I have ever encountered. And this "clean sweep system" is the worst! I applied my daily makeup routine to only re-do my entire eye makeup.. It seemed as if the wand had a fair amount of mascara on it so I didn't clean any excess off of it. But in truth, my eyelashes clumped together so badly making them appear as if I had 5 lashes. (I should have taken a picture to show you guys.. but I was frustrated and not happy.) I removed the mascara and reapplied, this time wiping off all the excess on a paper towel. All in all, I'm sticking to my favorite mascara (CoverGirl Lash Blast Fusion). My lashes just looked sad and not millionized at all with L'Oreal. I have gotten used to wiping off excess mascara on a paper towel so I'll continue doing it but if a product is going to claim that it has a wiping system in it and it fails to perform, then I'm not a fan at all.

  1. i think your lashes look pretty and natural. You might want tons of mascara i understand but your eyes look pretty!! I use YSL and Loreal voluminous = thicker and longer lashes!

  2. @Rinz- Thanks! I agree they do look a bit more on the natural side.. I was just disappointed in the mascara itself because of its claims.. thanks for commenting!
