Getting Organized for the Nail Obsessed

Nail Polish Collection Pile Up
My nail polish collection has been growing over time and during my last few hauls I've acquired about 35-40 new polishes.. I have around 100 or so now! Smh @ myself. Haha

I don't have much storage space in my room.. well actually I do have 2 great customized closets but there is literally no more room left in them to store anything. I don't know what I'm going to do if my shoe collection continues to grow. I have to admit I'm a bit of a self-diagnosed OCD individual and cannot stand seeing clutter and things out of place; so when I began noticing how my desk was becoming overcrowded by nail polish bottles I knew I had to find a solution for it otherwise I'd drive myself insane!

I recently received a $5 e-card from The Container Store for filling out a survey and was browsing the site to see what I could get with MY WHOLE $5!! Lol Lucky me, they were having a storage sale and I found these plastic shoe boxes (w/ lids) marked down from $1.79 to $1.52.

The dimensions (13"l x 7-1/2"w x 4-1/4"h) of these shoe boxes are perfect for every polish I own. I decided to just get 3 and cross my fingers in hopes that I didn't need more at the moment. I also noticed that the site shows if you buy in bulk, you get a deal on the price of the boxes. I chose the option to pick them up at my nearest Container Store to avoid the shipping costs. The 3 shoe boxes + tax = $4.96 - $5 free e-card = FREE SHOE BOXES!

I started out with organizing my polishes by brand and then sub-organizing them by color. OCD! In the first box I put my e.l.f., Rimmel, Essie and Wet n' Wild polishes together. Many of the WnW polishes are duplicates.. If you've seen my Konad manicures you know that I use the WnW (Black Creme) to konad my nails with. I stocked up on that and other colors I've been liking during a BOGO free, $3+up wyb $10 promotion that Rite Aid was having. I got 22 polishes, an eos lip sphere and 2 packs of liners for a profit of $1. :D

In the next box, I started off with my NYC polishes (which I also got for free during a different haul) and added my Sally Hansen, OPI, Revlon and Sinful Colors polishes. I thought that 3 boxes might of not been enough for my collection but I was wrong! I still had a little less than half the box empty (as you can see). And I still have one other empty box.. you know, for when I get more polishes ;). I decided to put my nail & nail art tools in the empty space in the meantime so the polishes wouldn't move around when I moved the box.

In the meantime I'm keeping them underneath my desk but I would like to find a way to put them away somewhere in my closets since I don't like to see things out in my room. If you're interested in buying these boxes you can get them here. I'm sure you can find promo codes on sites that offer coupon codes like retailmenot.com. I hope you enjoyed this blog on how to get your nail obsession organized! lol

BTW, I may be including some of my unused polishes in my giveaways along with other great products I recommend. I will be hosting my first giveaway once I reach 50+ followers, so make sure you spread the word and stay tuned!!

What system do you use to organize your nail polish collection?
